Arkamin is an oral medication prescribed to treat patients with hypertension. Arkamin contains Clonidine HCL as an active ingredient. It is normally prescribed along with other medications but may also be used on its own in some cases. Arkamin works by relaxing blood vessels throughout the body to increase circulation and reduce the workload placed on the heart. Your physician may also prescribe it to treat other unlisted conditions.

Follow your physician's instructions when using Arkamin to get the most effective results from treatment. One tablet is normally taken two times each day, but the best dosage will be determined by your current health and the severity of your symptoms. The tablets should be swallowed with a large glass of water and may be taken on an empty stomach, but a meal or snack is recommended before use if you get an upset stomach. Do not change the form of the tablets by splitting or crushing them as this may destroy or change the effects of their contents. Ask your physician any questions you have about using the medicine to ensure the correct application.

Side effects associated with the use of Arkamin include: headaches, dizziness or drowsiness, dry mouth, nausea or vomiting, upset stomach, constipation or diarrhea, blurry vision, joint or muscle pain, insomnia, increased urination, mild skin rash or irritation, decreased sex drive or impotence

Do not use Arkamin if the patient is a child, lactose intolerant, or if you have a very slow heart rate. It is also suggested to inform your physician if you have heart failure, a slowed heart rate, peripheral vascular disease, constipation, depression, polyneuropathy, or decreased kidney function as these conditions may cause unexpected problems requiring special adjustments to your regimen.

Strictly follow all instructions provided to you by your physician or pharmacist while using Arkamin. Optimum and safe dosage can differ based on the patient and the condition being treated.
