Ketasma 1 mg
Ketasma containing the active ingredient Ketotifen is considered an antihistamine type of medication. It is mainly used to reduce the frequency and severity of asthma attacks. Some people may also use Ketasma in the treatment of allergic conditions such as rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, dermatitis and urticaria.
Ketasma is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. The tablets should be taken with a meal along with some water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient’s condition and their response to the medication. Ketasma is used as a long term treatment for asthma but should not be used during an acute asthma attack.
Patients taking Ketasma may encounter unwanted side effects such as: sedation, dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, unexplained weight gain, oedema, liver function changes, convulsions. Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or worsen. Patients with a history of epilepsy should contact a doctor prior to administering Ketasma.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Ketasma is not always suitable for all patients. Always consult your health care provider prior to using Ketasma if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to conceive, using any other medication (prescription or non-prescription), using any herbal products or supplements, or if you have any allergies or other health problems.
The correct dosage and prescription commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. Ketasma is only for use as prescribed and instructed.
